I'm Sophie, aspirer, designer, boy mum, wife and entrepreneur. I'm passionate, motivated and most importantly I'm here to help you grow your creative business with visuals that uplevel & sell.
So you’ve got an amazing brand and you can’t wait to show it off across your instagram – the problem is, you’re finding it stressful and your imagery isn’t matching your brand. Does this sound like you? Here, I have three ways to bring your instagram to life to ensure that your brand runs cohesively throughout.
1: HIGHLIGHT COVERS
It may be a simple thing but you must ensure that your story highlight covers match your brand. This ensures that your grid stays aesthetically pleasing. Simple solutions for this are to use one of your brand icons or even to choose your brand colours – you don’t have to pay someone to do this and it is a simple quick fix.
2: IMAGERY

I know, I know, not everyone is creative in the way of styling and taking photographs. If you are good at styling your brand products and imagery then a smart phone is good enough for your instagram (photographers across the world will kill me for saying that I am sure). All that you need is a good set of props, a light room and a decent enough backdrop. I often use handmade backdrops using plaster or photoboards but you can use anything that will fit your brand.
Secondly, Adobe Lightroom presets are a great way to get the Light and Airy feel for your brand and your Instagram grid. Lightroom is free for all smart devices and you simply just need to create an account and log in. Not all presets are free though and it does take some shopping around to find the right ones for you.
Thirdly – if you really are not very good at the styling and photographing of your products then I would suggest that you find a good and reputable photographer for this job. Yes, it is a pain and yes it does cost money but it really is worth it (plus you can use the images on your website etc too!)
You must always remember to stay true to your brand – not everyone shows every product that they have upon their instagram – why would they if it just doesn’t work?
3: PLAN YOUR POSTS
It sounds really simple enough but we are all guilty of getting an image and thinking that this will be perfect for our social medias. We are then a little bit eager and we post there and then.
Whilst for some brands this is okay (because this is their brand) for us light and airy or fine art brands it just will not work. You really need to think about your posts (edits, lighting, captions, content) and remember that you don’t need to post daily. If you have a great brand aesthetic and you are not hard selling you will get there in time. Patience is the key but you really must believe in your product and your brand.
