How to stop feeling lost within your wedding business and start gaining brand clarity
October 4, 2021
Being within the wedding industry can feel so overwhelming at times – I should know, not only do I work within it but I also used to have a letterpress stationery business within the industry too. Then you add being a creative into the mix and suddenly that overwhelm because a bit of a hectic mess (let’s be honest!)
Do you ever feel like you’re running on empty, you’ve so much to do, you’re wading through one step at a time but you’re still not getting your dream boat clients?
What you need is to go back to basics and begin to get brand clarity again within your creative business.
Right, so let’s delve a little deeper with three simple tips to help you gain clarity within your business to help you to start converting your dream clients…
1 – go back to basics
I don’t mean reivisting your brand name (well, you might want to) but what I mean is go back to your why’s. Think about your reasons for running your business, think about when you started and the grit and determination you had. Where has that gone? Have your business why’s changed? If you haven’t jotted them down, I’d suggest that you do this so that you can get this embedded into your mind. Your why is your reason and your why will help you to reach those goals. Then think about your brand values – what are they? Do they resonate with your current audience? Chances are they don’t! You need to stick to your brand values and have this within your messaging and your product/services that you put out to your audience.
2 – what are your audiences pain points?
I mean their serious pain points. I know that we hear this so often but how are you meeting them? Have a look at your branding, website and your social media/marketing. Do you reach your ideal clients pain points across every touch point? Do you deliver consistently what they need? You may feel like you are, but chances are, if you aren’t attracting them now, you need to think about offering different products/services to meet their needs. Have a go at writing down their pain points and then transferring across to your current services that you offer as a bridal brand.
3 – do you meet your dreamboats needs?
If you’re a luxury bridal brand does this come across in absolutely everything that you do? Does your branding and your visuals reflect that you’re a luxury brand? If they don’t then now is the time to look into it – you want to scream luxury across every single touchpoint without actually saying you’re luxury.
That means if you’re a cake designer you need to have branded boxes which portray elegance and high-end to match your cake designs. You’ll need notecards or other stationery that as soon as your client picks up they know that they’re working with someone that will meet their needs.
You also need to think about how you’re coming across within social media and your website… do you have professional or at least edited photographs? (If you struggle with this, styled shoots are a great way to get imagery for your brand). Is your wording and your content luring your audience in? Think about your messaging and your brands voice!
Finally, consistency is key when building a bridal brand. Once you have the clarity and the direction, keep going and don’t give up. Chances are, your dreamboats are just around the corner from you.
