How to make sure that your luxury brand identity is timeless

Within the wedding industry or as a creative you will want to be instantly recognisable but you also want to be timeless and classic. How do you ensure that you get a good mix of the both? Seems hard to do right?
First of all, I really, really advise you to go against the grain a little bit and keep away from the fashions of fonts/graphics that are ‘on trend’. Just like the blue kitchen design colour that’s ‘in’ at the moment, certain typography and brand assets will also go out of style within a couple of years. If you want an identity that is fashionable then you’ll be looking to rebrand every couple of years.
Timeless doesn’t have to be boring, you can absolutely have serif or sans serif typography and make it work well for you and your brand. I also really believe that timeless design has a touch of elegance and class to it – use this to your advantage. It’ll also help you to attract the higher end clientele.
Think about luxury brands like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior … they all have timeless branding and they all have luxury brand palettes. Not one of these brands have gone out of fashion and they are able to use their branding everywhere… in fact, people buy items with their branding upon it because they’re deemed as high-end and luxury brands.
Finally, think about your brand nuances… you don’t have to go bold and out there and actually, sometimes less is more.
