I'm Sophie, aspirer, designer, boy mum, wife and entrepreneur. I'm passionate, motivated and most importantly I'm here to help you grow your creative business with visuals that uplevel & sell.
Eep, a whole year as flown by in the blink of an eye and you’ve realised that you’ve been so busy with wedding postponements (thanks Covid) that you haven’t even thought about your own brand. As a luxury brand and website designer I’m here to help you with some handy tips on how to easily refresh your website to attract some more dream clients.
1: Update your portfolio
You worked super bloomin’ hard over the past few years and your style will have altered. Now is the time to update your portfolio with your best work. I mean, the work that you’re super proud of. If you have work upon your website that no longer resonates with you, or your ideal client, put it in the bin and replace with something that will wow your audience.
2: Update your homepage
Your homepage is probably going to need some work so ensure that you use your new portfolio images and content across your homepage. You want your audience to stop in their tracks and think ‘I want to know more’ as opposed to ‘this is the same as two years ago.’
3: Update your copy
Your brand voice and messaging has perhaps changed over the past year so ensure that you’re still grabbing your ideal clients attention. I know, I know, you hate writing copy and it feels like such a mundane job but trust me, once you get started you’ll probably want to continue updating further pages!
4: Change your imagery
Ensure that you have lots of clean and fresh imagery across your website. People buy from people so also ensure you have a good proportion that includes photographs of yourself. These don’t have to be from a brand shoot, grab some photos of yourself that are recent and edit them in Adobe Lightroom (it’s free for mobile!) Then, when you’re able to, book in a brand shoot so that you have plenty of branded imagery to splash across your website!
5: Check your analytics
This is a really important part of refreshing your website because it will help you to know which pages need the most amount of attention. Check your analytics to see whether there is a pattern and work upon the pages that need it foremost before moving onto other areas of your website. Have a look to see whether the page is too text heavy, has too many services/options or maybe it doesn’t have enough. Either way, your data is a really important aspect of your business and it’ll help you to market within the future too (so you’d may as well start the new year as you mean to go on!)
I hope that has helped you to do a ‘quick’ update of your website. I know it may feel like a pain in the bum project, but it is one that will help you within the year. Nobody wants to see old content and if you’re a luxury brand you need to be seen to be putting in the effort within all aspects of your brand.
