1: Are you messing around with FARRRR too many fonts and colour palettes?
This is a sure fire way to confuse your audience because you aren’t being consistent with your visual aesthetic. Not only does it not look professional but it also doesn’t allow your audience to fully understand you as a personal brand.
Imagine if Gucci changed their fonts or colour palette constantly? Would they still have the luxury factor? Absolutely not!
2: You’re using too many Canva templates because they look pretty and because you aren’t a designer you keep changing your mind
This one is one that I see all too many times and hey, I’m not having a go buttttt, if you stayed consistent with a couple of templates that you use across your social media then you’ll start to gain instant recognition. It’ll also help to develop the know, like, trust with your ideal clients.
3: Using too much white space
Eeeek, this honestly makes my skin crawl a little bit (forever the honest person!). But it really does stress me out … and your audience too! If you have everything that looks like it’s on a picnic on its own in a random field… you’re going to lose your audience. White space needs to be in equal measures and also really eye-catching. If you use too much … your audience will switch off. I’d recommend asking for some honest feedback before putting anything out into the big wide world for your audience to see!
… just a little reminder that if you’d love some design help then i’m taking clients on from September and I also have my semi-custom branding and website templates available within my shop.
